| Organizing Meeting of The Audacity: Saturday, February 7 at 10 AM, 345 Broadway, Rockland This weekend marks one year since The Audacity held its first political demonstration. In that year, we have held 52 weekly rallies in all weather, starting with a group of 20 and swelling to as many as 2000. We have organized testimony on state legislation, held political theater, worked to change Rockland’s cooperation with ICE, invited members of Congress to meet with us, developed discussion and chapbook groups, distributed thousands of free buttons, held food drives and fundraisers for local nonprofits, kicked off a Signs of Fascism roadside display, joined a national shutdown, and planned for local intervention in case of ICE. This is the largest wave of popular political organizing Knox County has ever seen, and with stakes this high, we can’t stop now. What’s next? Come join us to organize a second crucial year of organizing, and bring a friend. We are grassroots, local, and independent, and our agenda is built by you! Send agenda items to contact@audacitycat.com. |

The theft of a counter protester’s banner by an unknown person near last week’s Saturday demonstration is not in accordance with our group’s shared commitments. The Audacity did not plan, was not aware of, and does not support such behavior. |

| Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a rucksack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.-Anne Frank, January 13, 1943 |
