Saturday, March 7 @ Noon: Stand Out and Sing Out in Rockland’s Chapman Park
We are a diverse group. And, together, we choose democracy.

Announcement: Song and chant leaders are relocating from the corner to near the flagpole! We’ll anchor the sound from this new spot in hope that more people in the park will hear and sing along if they want to. Song leaders will have a broader view of the weekly demonstration. Let’s see how this change works in the coming weeks – it’s adjustment for us all & hopefully an improvement on several levels to expand our participatory singing community. We demonstrate the perseverance of local opposition at the corner of Park & Main Streets. We sing, hold signs, have conversations, collect food/hygiene donations for the local food bank, and give away buttons and postcards.

Bring a sign (we have signs you can borrow too), your voice and your heart. Make a friend. Bring a friend! Bring food and hygiene items to donate. Dress warmly and know your own limits. Your creativity in noisemaking is welcome with one exception: while we are distributing whistles at Chapman Park, please reserve use of whistles for sightings of ICE.
Be A Peace Keeper

VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON WATCH PARTY
The Resistance Lab (RL) Group is hosting a watch party in Downtown Rockland for Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal’s upcoming monthly creative non-violent resistance webcast. It is focused on training, action, and community solidarity. There is a breakout session for local groups to do their own related activities before the second half of the training session.
Since the RL is about boycotting billionaires, the 45 mins breakout session will be devoted to making “end the oligarchy” style signs for the upcoming No Kings rally just a couple weeks after the RL.
Bring a shareable appetizer/dessert if you are able, sign supplies if you have them (we will have some!), and creative ideas for new oligarchy-focused signs.

We invite members from the visual arts group or others who just want some focused time to make signs with others.

Space is limited, so please RSVP by 3/4/26.
There is a virtual option, too.
Text the number in the graphic for more info.
Free class online: Song leading for Protests

Sunday, March 8 at 7-8:30pm (EDT) Course description: “Singing brings us joy, connects us to others, heals our bodies and minds, and helps sustain us in movement work. In this workshop, we will learn easily shareable songs for protests and resistance work and we will learn tools on how to teach them to crowds in the moment. We will also learn how to turn a speaking chant into a song so it is easier on our voices to keep repeating. We will also learn how to use singing as a tool for de-escalation, how songs can be a shield and also help calm people down who become aggressive. Music is amazing! Everyone welcome, join us!”

Use the link in the image above and search in “classes” to register. This training promises to be useful for all of us!

Sunday, March 15 @ 4-6PM: Rockin’ The Resistance Mad Hatter Tea Party

The SAVE ACT

The SAVE ACT bills would block millions from voting in the midterm elections. If passed into law, the bill would require voters to show either a current passport, or a birth certificate with the name on the certificate matching the name on a photo I.D., in order to register to vote, but would also require states to purge their voting rolls every month. Millions of people do not have names that match their birth certificates, and millions do not have U.S. Passports. The measure has passed the U.S. House of Representatives but must overcome a filibuster to pass the U.S. Senate. Please read this for more information on the current SAVE ACT that was passed by the House:https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/analysis-opinion/new-save-act-bills-would-still-block-millions-americans-voting

It has been proven time and again that voter fraud is virtually non-existent.Please check your registration status!!

Q: Why do I need to check my registration status?
A: Since 2013, tens of millions of voters have had their registrations canceled in voter roll purges. It is crucial that voters check their voter registration status to confirm it is active and up-to-date with their current address ahead of each election’s voter registration deadline. If voters discover their registration has been canceled they still have time to register ahead of deadlines to ensure they can cast a ballot in the next election.

Q: What can I do to ensure that I can vote in the midterms (if the SAVE Act is passed) if I don’t have a passport and my name doesn’t match my birth certificate?
A: AudacityCAT is here to help! People at AudacityCAT are so passionate about this issue that they are committed to helping people navigate this atrocious predicament the Trump regime is creating. Send us a message and someone will get back to you.Visit www.AudacityCAT.com for more information about voting in the midterm election.

Actions You Can Take to Resist ICE:
As the authoritarian government extends its fingers slowly but surely over the mid coast, we may have cause to report shocking events. When we do so, let’s use the SALUTE mnemonic to help us remember what information to collect and share so that the report can be most useful. It helps us record any event fully. Please share this image widely as a reminder.
An easy way to support Audacity… Grab a Clynk bag!
Grab a Clynk bag from Linda at our weekly demonstration. Then return your full Clynk bag(s) (the fuller, the better) to your nearest Hannaford store. We’ve raised about $120 and we’d like to raise more. Thank you for supporting Audacity CAT with your returnable cans and bottles. Together, we can make a difference.
“Freedom is not a state; it is an act… Freedom is the continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.” -John Lewis
