Protest for Peace at Bath Iron Works
On Friday, October 2, you are invited to join the Vigil for Disarmament at Bath Iron Works, from 11:30 to 12:30, as part of the International Week of Protest to Stop the Militarization of Space. All are welcome. Folks will gather on Washington Street across from the BIW administration building in Bath and walk down the street to leaflet the workers at the noon break. General Dynamics continues to build Aegis guided missile Destroyers in the BIW shipyard with contracts into the 2030’s. We are in a permanent war economy. In Iran and Gaza and the other wars raging around the world, the innocent and the children are war’s victims. The $Billions wasted building warships that kill indiscriminately prevent us from healing the many needs that are crying to be addressed around our Mother Earth. We need to create a disarmed world with love and nonviolence by standing shoulder to shoulder against militarism. We need to stand against our military’s call for “orbital dominance” while we demand that BIW convert to build hospital ships, light rail, anything that promotes life.

Following up on the “Consequence of Palestine” conference this past winter, two full days of Mainely Palestine events in early October will feature speakers, workshops, film, art, music, food, and more.
The Audacity will march from various locations into Rockland’s downtown Chapman Park, starting at 11:30 am. We will rally at noon. At 12:30, we will have microphones available to share information about voting, especially early voting.
A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
We decide who represents us. We decide what comes next. Join us.

Office Hours on Friday: Meet up with Audacitizens at Main Street Markets Cafe’s back room in Rockland at 10:30 AM over coffee and share your ideas, plans, and notions to act up.
Stand Up and Sing Out on Saturday @ noon: Come to Chapman Park in Rockland for our weekly demonstrations. We sing, hold signs, have conversations, give away buttons and postcards. We collect food/hygiene items for the local food bank and clean up the park every week.

In order to protect and rebuild our democracy we need to find power. That power comes from the organizing of people in solidarity: people power.
